CENTRAL LIBRARY [Digital and conventional]

Our library has a floor area of around 2,750 square feet and is located on the college's first floor. Our library offers a wide range of books, journals, research works, thesis, back issues, and other materials from various divisions in pharmacy to support discovery and learning and meet the academic needs of students and faculty members. The bookkeeping operations of the central library are fully automated with KOHA library management software with barcode applications.

The ECP library functions from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Library remains closed on Sundays and all public holidays.

Library membership is open to all the students and teaching staff members of our institution during their study or work period.

Library Resources

The central library provides both print and online resources like books, journals, thesis, back volumes, question papers, online databases, etc. in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. The total collections of the library resources as of March 27, 2023, stand as follows:

Issue

Books will be issued after verification of the Identity Card. Students are instructed to check the books while borrowing and will be responsible for any type of damages or mutilation noticed at the time of return.

The following books in the library are for REFERENCE ONLY and NOT FOR ISSUE.

   Journals, Magazines, Thesis, Back Volumes, Newspapers.

   The Indian Pharmacopoeia, The British Pharmacopoeia, The United States of Pharmacopoeia, MERC Index, BNF.

   Single copy of textbooks and some reference books and very expensive books.

 

Renewal

The user can also extend their loan period by renewing their borrowed book. The maximum limit of renewal is two times after which the user must return the book to the library.

 

General Rules

   Every user must possess his/her identity card while making use of the library facilities.

   Users must scan their Identity card in the e-gate scanner kept at the library entrance for recording in time and out time.

   Silence and discipline must be maintained in the library premises.

   Readers should not discuss inside the library, as they may disturb other readers. Reading hall is meant for individual study or research only.

   All the students are instructed to keep their belongings in the allocated space. Readers and visitors are not allowed to bring their belongings inside the library. Users have to take care of their belongings. The library is not responsible for the loss or misplacement of their belongings.

   Users are not allowed to displace the seating arrangements.

   All users should handle the library books very carefully. Marking with pencil or ink, tearing the pages or spoiling the same is strictly prohibited.

   Use of mobile phones is strictly not allowed inside the library premises.

   Reference books will be issued only for overnight use.

   If a book is lost, borrower should replace the book within 30 days or must pay double cost of the book.

   Computers in the library premises should be used for academic purposes only.

   Online chatting, browsing of social network sites is strictly prohibited.

   Playing games on computers is strictly prohibited in the library premises.

   Readers should not mishandle computer cables/connections, network cables and other accessories of the library.

   Accessing unnecessary information from the internet is strictly prohibited.

   The librarian reserves the right to suspend the membership of any user found misbehaving with the library staff or with any other member.

   The rules are subject to revision/updating from time to time without prior information of the reason.

 

Books Borrowing Eligibility

Borrowed books should be returned on or before the due date stamped on the date slip pasted in the title page of the book. If returned late, Rs. 2 per day is charged.
