Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry

Pharmaceutical Chemistry department is providing the strong foundation in the fundamentals of various chemistry subjects of Pharmaceutical Organic chemistry, Pharmaceutical Inorganic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry and Computer Aided Drug Design. The aim of the department is to provide deep theoretical and Practical knowledge to the students and to shape them into professionals with practical competence. Our department Faculty are well experienced and highly qualified with a dedication to teaching and well exposure to carry out research. .

Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department has all basic and advanced features like well-ventilated spacious laboratories with water and gas connections, fume free environment, glass wares. The department has, Digital melting point apparatus, catalyst microwave Synthesizer, electric water bath, hot air oven, digital mixers and stirrers, hot plate, high end filtration equipment’s and other instruments to carry out research. The department has identified core areas of research mainly in medicinal chemistry in the fields of cancer, diabetes, inflammation and chemotherapy of microbial diseases. The majorly our research is to identify a lead molecule from plants origin and synthetic and semi synthetic and to optimize the lead to attain desirable and better pharmacologically efficient molecule. The methods to identify the lead applied in our department includes design, synthesis, SAR, and QSAR characterization and screening of newer molecules by using computational methods.
